A league-leading seven saves and a mere six hits in 18.2 innings landed lefty reliever Andrew “Bear” Pinedo on the WCL’s first all-star team, representing the second-year Nanaimo NightOwls.

Listed as honorable mentions are catcher/first baseman Ethan Rivera, shortstop Elijah Ickes, and pitchers Jakob Fleury and Payton Robertson.

The WCL awards continue on Friday with coach of the year and top pro prospect recognition, and Ickes, a Texas Rangers pick going to the University of Hawaii-Manoa, should be in contention for that award. The full list of award winners can be found at the WCL website.
