A league-leading seven saves and a mere six hits in 18.2 innings landed lefty reliever Andrew “Bear” Pinedo on the WCL’s first all-star team, representing the second-year Nanaimo NightOwls.

Pinedo (Hope International) had an 0.96 ERA with 30 strikeouts, surrendering just two runs in 15 appearances under the watch of Head Coach Greg Frady and Pitching Coach Gorm Heimueller.
The NightOwls posted their best record in two seasons, improving to within a win of the .500 mark at 26-28, battling for a playoff spot into the final week of the season.
NightOwls Catcher Michael Easter (East LA College)

Listed as honorable mentions are catcher/first baseman Ethan Rivera, shortstop Elijah Ickes, and pitchers Jakob Fleury and Payton Robertson.

Elijah Ickes (University of Hawaii at Manoa)

The WCL awards continue on Friday with coach of the year and top pro prospect recognition, and Ickes, a Texas Rangers pick going to the University of Hawaii-Manoa, should be in contention for that award. The full list of award winners can be found at the WCL website.
