$2 from every pizza sold this weekend to be donated to Nanaimo Minor Baseball

The NightOwls plan to deliver in Nanaimo, with baseball and community support — and there’s no delivery model better to follow than that of Panago’s location on Fourth Street.

The new WCL team in Nanaimo, slated to open at Serauxmen Stadium in June of 2021, is pleased to announce a major partnership with the South Nanaimo Panago location (218 Fourth Street) — one that fans can sink their teeth into right away, while supporting the grassroots work done by the Nanaimo Minor Baseball Association (NMBA).

This weekend — Friday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Oct. 4 — South Nanaimo Panago will donate $2 from every pizza sold to the NMBA. In a full safe and social-distanced manner, the team mascot Ney-te the NightOwl will be on location from 4:30pm to 5:30pm on Friday at the South Nanaimo Panago location.

That’s $2 per pizza — delivery or pick-up — benefitting the NMBA

“Being involved with local organizations, and doing good things with quality local businesses, is key to the NightOwls landing in Nanaimo,” said NightOwls GM Jim Swanson. “Panago gives so much back in Nanaimo, they get involved in so much, and this is a way for us to partner with them and learn more about what’s important in Nanaimo, and to the people we hope will be our fans. The NMBA has come through a tough summer, with COVID reducing their programming, keeping kids off the field. With all the great work they do, this is a way to raise their spirits again.”

Panago’s involvement will continue from there, as the top row of the grandstand seating will be now known as the Panago Table-Top Row, with prominent signage. Panago pizza will be part of the food service offerings during NightOwls games, and further promotions combining Panago and the NightOwls (and Bars!) will take place both in season, and in the months between WCL campaigns.

“As a business owner and fellow Nanaimoite, I’m beyond thrilled to see a new team and with it a new opportunity coming to Nanaimo,” said South Nanaimo Panago owner/operator Vatslav Govorov . “My hope is that the NightOwls will give all the kids who play baseball in the region a chance to become a NightOwl and take their dream to the next level.”

Panago is the latest major partner to become part of the inaugural group of key corporate entities going into the 2021 season — including Island Savings, the Founding Partner, and Platinum Partner in Save On Foods.
